The blue sky is the godfs palms for an ascending lark.

An ascending lark flies high up into the spring sky. It looks as though it is being sucked up into the blue sky. To me there is a god in the sky, and it looks as though the lark is being held in his palms.

Why does the lark ascend so high into the sky? I feel strongly that there must be a god in the sky.

The pilgrimfs shoes keep on chasing a road mirage.

gRun-away waterh is the name for mirage that looks like a shallow pool of water just beyond the horizon on a road or field. On my pilgrimages, I have often seen groad miragesh.

No matter how fast I chased the grun-away waterh, they were only dream-like mirages. Sometimes it made me feel as if they were the goal that I was chasing at the end of my pilgrimage.

A bell on a walking stick, stopped by the violet blossoms.

For pilgrims, walking sticks are a necessity. During my pilgrimage in Santiago, I often became aware of other pilgrims approaching me from behind by the sound of the bells on their walking sticks.

One time, the bells that I had heard behind me for a while suddenly stopped. What stopped the pilgrim was not a need for rest and a drink of water, but rather, some violet blossoms along the road.

Some people keep on walking with the sole purpose of reaching their goals, while others take their time and stop to look at the flowers. However, one thing that holds true for all fellow pilgrims is that the sound of a birdfs chirping or the sight of small plants and flowers along the road gives them some comfort during their strenuous pilgrimage.
