国際スケート連盟（ISU）がフィギュア部門で創設した「ISUスケーティング・アワード」の表彰式が11日、オンラインで行われ、男子の羽生結弦（25＝ANA）が初代「最優秀選手賞」（MVS＝MostValuableSkater）に輝いた。

2019－20年シーズンの4大陸選手権（韓国）初制覇など実績に加え、競技への貢献度も評価された。式にはリモート出席。そこで披露した英語スピーチ全文を掲載する。【構成＝木下淳、阿部健吾】

(before　the　Award)

I　said　same　thing　before,　but　I　would　like　to　say　again.　I　am　delighted　to　be　nominated　for　this　awards.　To　answer　to　your　questions.

For　me　personally,　all　the　eyes　and　voices　from　the　fans　are　added　pressure　for　me.　I　always　sense　their　expectation　and　their　pressure,　even　if　it's　just　a　practice,　I　can　sense　them.　To　be　honest,　sometimes　it's　tough　and　feel　like　I'm　closing　to　something.

But　this　pressure　actually　makes　me　stronger　　It　would　be　terrible　if　no　one　expected　anything　from　me.　Because　this　expectation　level　I　believe　want　to　achieve　and　satisfy.

Of　course,　I　can't　always　deliver　at　100　percent　but　what　I　always　try　to　do　is　respond　to　their　expectation　at　120　percent　level.　That　why　when　I　felt　responsibility　is　huge,　and　when　success　it's　amazing　sense　of　achievement　than　words　can　describe.

先ほど同じことを言いましたが、繰り返させてください。この賞にノミネートされてうれしく思います。質問に答えます。

個人的には、ファンの皆さんの目と声は、すべてにおいてプレッシャーとなります。私はいつも期待とプレッシャーを感じています。たとえ、それが単なる練習だったとしても、私はそれを感じています。正直なところ、時にはそれはきついし、何か自分を閉じてしまいたくなると感じることもあります。

でも、そのプレッシャーが私をより強くします。もし誰からも何も期待されなかったらと思うと、ゾッとします。なぜなら、その期待度こそ、達成して満足したいと思っているレベルだからです。

もちろん、常に100％納得できる結果を見せられるわけではありませんが、常に120％の力で彼らの期待に応えようと努力しています。責任は非常に大きいですが、期待に応えて成功を収めた時の達成感は、言葉では言い表せないほど素晴らしいものです。
