来日2年目の日本ハム、ニック・マルティネス投手（29）が、日本への感謝あふれる開幕戦のスピーチを行った。

Today,we　stand　here　with　full　of　joy　as　professional　baseball　players.There　were　days　spent,unsure　if　we　would　be　able　to　play　on　this　field　as　we　are　going　to　today.We　thank　the　country　of　Japan　and　the　effort　of　all　of　its　people.We　will　show　the　utmost　respect　towards　all　of　our　fans,as　we　play　the　sport　we　love　from　today　on.

June　19th,2020,an　opening　day　we　will　never　forget.Hereby,we　promise　to　repay　all　of　those　who　have　joined　efforts　to　make　this　day　happen,by　fighting　through　this　season　with　all　our　spirit,one　play　at　a　time.
