ＮＦＬ「セインツ」チア、アンバーさんのメッセージ

今週は、米NFLのニューオーリンズ・セインツのチアリーダー「Saintsations」で、4シーズン目を迎えるアンバー・スコットさんを紹介します。高校でチアのコーチも務めるアンバーさんに、子どもたちへのメッセージを聞きました。元メンバーの松崎美奈子さんが英語と日本語で現地リポートします。

M　What　are　the　important　lessons　you　would　like　to　teach　to　your　students？

A　The　person　I　am　outside　of　dance　is　more　important　than　dance　itself．　This　is　a　lesson　from　the　Saintsations　I　will　continue　to　pass　on　to　my　students，　because　it　teaches　you　to　be　self－aware　and　the　impact　you　can　have　on　others．

M　Please　give　a　message　for　Japanese　kids　who　are　trying　to　follow　their　dreams．

A　Make　sure　you　dream　big　and　you　continue　to　work　towards　whatever　it　is　you　want　to　be　in　the　world，　because　you　can　achieve　it！　With　hard　work　and　perseverance　you　can　become　the　greatest　version　of　yourself　and　that　is　far　more　important　than　anything　else！　Who　you　are　and　how　you　treat　others　can　take　you　so　far　in　life，　so　I　want　you　to　remember　to　always　be　kind　to　others　and　continue　to　work　to　accomplish　your　dreams．

M　生徒たちに伝えたい大切なことは何ですか？

A　「ダンスそのものよりも、ダンスの世界以外で自分がどういう人間であるかが重要である」。これが私がセインツのチアリーダーとして得た教訓であり、生徒たちに伝え続けたいことです。なぜなら、この教訓は自己を認識すること、そして自分が他者に与える影響力について教えてくれるからです。

M　夢を追いかけている日本の子どもたちにメッセージをお願いします。

A　できるだけ大きな夢を描いて、それをかなえるための努力を続けてください。そうすれば必ず実現します。たゆまぬ努力で自分自身を磨き続けることが何より重要です。あなたがどんな振る舞いをするか、周りの人をどのように扱うかによって、あなたの人生の可能性は広がっていきます。だからいつも周りの人に親切にすることを忘れず、夢をかなえるための努力を続けてください。
